Playground and Auditions

Wow! How tiring was the Dramatists' Playground this past Saturday? Tiring enough that most of us only lasted two hours at Europa afterwards. The four plays that were presented Saturday were, I believe, the most polished, complete, and satisfying shows in the six years I've been doing this. Everyone fully embraced the motto of our team - "We don't suck!" - and ran with it.

Hope to see you all at auditions on Tuesday the 22nd for the next Evening of Short Plays that goes up September 14th! Be there or be trapezoidal.

We're half way there!

If you were at the Playwrights' Forum meeting last night, and stuck around after the unusually short round of reading, you've seen the rough cut of the first round of filming! As always, there are sound issues (fucking elevator), and a demon-dragon-sci-fi baby crying, but face it, WE ROCK! Way to go Andy for getting the scenes spliced together. He'll work on titles next and Tilley will work on music.

Editing Update

Hi all - The last time I talked to Andy, he had two of the skits finished and was diligently working on the next few. We'll get an update at the Greensboro Playwrights' Forum this coming Wednesday. We should also talk about the next Soylent Greensboro meeting to gather more plays and ideas for the next round. Plus, select a date and find a rehearsal schedule that will work!

It's comedy, people!

Welcome to the newest comedy group in Greensboro! Our first round of filming is in the can and we're now in the process of editing our fabulous skits with the goal of having them shown on our local cable-access channel. With such topics as therapy, cannibalism, angry flowers, and funerals there's sure to be something for everyone.
